Creating Your Submission

Welcome to the Music Distribution Platform! This guide provides a general overview of the submission process, whether you're releasing a single, an album, or a music video. Follow these steps to ensure your release is correctly prepared and distributed to digital platforms.

General Submission Process

Step 1: Start a New Submission

Begin by clicking the Create Submission button in the sidebar. This will open the submission form, where you can create a release.

Tip: Ensure you have all your assets and metadata ready before starting your submission.

Step 2: Choose the Submission Type

From the dashboard, select the type of release you wish to create:

  • Single: For individual tracks.
  • Album: For collections of multiple tracks.
  • Music Video: For video releases.

Step 3: Enter Metadata and Details

Provide essential information about your release. Accurate metadata is crucial for proper categorization and discovery on DSPs.

Common Metadata Fields:

  1. Title
    Enter the official name of your release.

  2. Artists
    Specify the name of the lead artist or band.

  3. Contributors
    List key contributors (e.g., featured artists, producers, composers, lyricists).

  4. Genre
    Select the genre that best describes your release. You can also specify a sub-genre for more precise categorization.

  5. Release Date
    Choose the date your release will go live. Ensure it’s at least 2–3 weeks ahead to allow for review and processing.

  6. Parental Advisory
    Indicate whether the content is Explicit or Clean.

  7. Language
    Specify the primary language of the release. If the lyrics differ, note the language of the lyrics as well.

  8. Label (Optional)
    Provide your label name or leave blank if you’re an independent artist.

Step 4: Upload Required Assets

Audio Files (For Singles and Albums):

  • Accepted Formats: WAV or FLAC
  • Specifications:
    • HD Audio: 192 kHz, 96 kHz, or 44.1 kHz at 32/24 bits
    • Minimum Bitrate: 1411 kbps (for lossless quality)

Artwork (For All Submissions):

  • Format: JPG or PNG (RGB)
  • Dimensions:
    • Minimum: 1440x1440 pixels
    • Recommended: 3000x3000 pixels
    • Maximum: 3000x3000 pixels

Note: Artwork must not contain promotional text (e.g., URLs or “Available Now”) or explicit imagery.

Video Files (For Music Videos):

  • Resolution: Minimum 1920x1080 (HD) or 3840x2160 (4K).
  • Supported Codecs: H264, MPEG4, or Apple ProRes 422.
  • Frame Rate: 23.976 fps or higher.
  • Bitrate: At least 15 Mbps for quality assurance.

Step 5: Review Licensing Agreement

Before submitting, carefully review the platform's licensing agreement.

Sign the agreement digitally to proceed.

Step 6: Submit Your Release for Review

Once all fields are completed and files are uploaded, review your submission. Use the checklist below to ensure accuracy:

Submission Checklist:

  • ✅ Audio or video files meet platform specifications.
  • ✅ Artwork complies with submission guidelines.
  • ✅ Licensing agreement is signed and accepted.

Click the Send to Distribution button to submit your release. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days, after which your content will go live on selected DSPs.

  • Music Videos: Visual content that pairs with your music.

Best Practices for a Successful Submission

  1. Plan Ahead
    Submit your release at least 4–6 weeks before your intended release date to account for any delays.

  2. Ensure High Quality
    Use professional-grade audio, video, and artwork to increase the chances of approval and a strong reception.

  3. Double-Check Metadata
    Accuracy in metadata ensures proper categorization and prevents delays in distribution.

  4. Maximize Distribution
    Select all available DSPs to increase your reach and visibility.

  5. Promote Your Release
    Plan your marketing strategy early to build momentum before your release goes live.
